19 June 2010

Family Fun Day and Evening Picnic and Concert at Prees Cricket and Recreation Club. The first ever Midsummer Madness Event to raise money to fund a range of projects to help young people and children within Prees parish. A variety of events in the day and an evening picnic and concert, as well as a Festival of Flowers running alongside at St Chad’s Church. Tickets available from the cricket club.

”Kindergardens” – early years theatre festival at Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch. 

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th June 

Down to Earth presents Art in the Yard. Glass blowing and pottery demonstration. Demonstrations take place every hour from 11am to 4pm. Free admission. Prize charity draw. 

19th and 20th June 

Ellesmere food and drink festival. A not-for-profit food and drink festival, enabling families to come together and enjoy the food, drink and events in and around the Ellesmere area. The Festival is held at the Market Hall and Town Hall and is open from 10am until 4pm both days.  

Sunday 20th June 

Water vole workshop. 2pm at Bettisfield Village Hall. 

Sunday 20th June 

Car Boot and Collectors Fair at Dearnford Lake, in aid of Midlands Air Ambulance. 8.30am – 12noon. Free parking. Admission – adults £1, under 16s free. 

Saturday 26th June 

Kings of Leon tribute night at the Civic Centre.

Sir John Talbot's School PTA Summer Fair. Craft stalls, raffles, tombola, car boots, football competition, Whitchurch Town Band. Starts 1pm.

Market Drayton Carnival Day. Tel 01630 653114. 

Thursday 1st July

A local group will be taking part in Walk Lake Windermere to raise money for Diabetes UK. The walk is 44 miles, and they hope to complete it in 21 hours and raise £10,000. Sponsorship forms are available at Sentiments on the High Street. For more details call 01948 666757.

Saturday 10th July

Tuesday 13th July

Summer Concert at Sir John Talbot's school. Takes place in the school hall. 7pm start. Tickets available on the door - £4 adults; £3 concessions.

Friday 16th July

Molly Owen and her mum Hannah will be cycling 160 miles from Whitchurch to the most westerly village of Wales, Dale.

The bike ride is to raise money for the Stroke Association, and Molly and Hannah hope to raise £500. Molly came into the Whitchurch FM studio to talk about her plans, and we were very impressed by her enthusiasm! We wish Molly and Hannah lots of luck.
